PC-ESD

Electrostatic Dissipative FDM Thermoplastic
PC-ESD is a polycarbonate material with electrostatic dissipative (ESD) properties. Formulated for ESD applications with higher mechanical performance requirements, PC-ESD blends the beneficial properties of polycarbonate with ESD capabilities, making this material highly suitable for electronic component manufacturing.
PC-ESD is a Stratasys Validated Material. Validated Materials are developed by Stratasys or a third-party provider, meet Stratasys quality standards and have received basic reliability testing for use with Stratasys FDM printers.

Key Attributes
PC-ESD is an ESD-capable material that fits between high-performance Antero and lower-cost ABS-ESD7.

  • Delivers consistent ESD performance in an FDM material for a variety of 3D printed geometries.
  • Offers the beneficial mechanical properties of polycarbonate including high impact strength, durability, and toughness.
  • Retains polycarbonate’s good chemical resistance.
  • Has a heat deflection temperature of 140 °C, making it suitable for some higher temperature applications.

Key Applications
PC-ESD provides a unique blend of characteristics that enable use in multiple electrostatic-sensitive applications.

  • Highly customized handling trays for electronic components that are too complex for machining or injection molding.
  • Fixtures or masks used in printed circuit board conformal coating processes.
  • Jigs and fixtures used in the production of ESD-sensitive electronic parts and assemblies.
  • Pick-and-place machine components for electronic component assembly where static buildup is a concern.
