As the pioneering technology in this field, HyperXtrude accurately simulates the material flow and heat transfer during extrusion processes thereby allowing the user to significantly reduce die design time and costly die tryouts. 

Altair HyperXtrude comes in two flavours – one for metals and one for polymers.  

HyperExtrude Metal is a simulation environment designed to help metal extrusion companies meet the ever increasing demands to produce complex profiles with tight tolerances, quality surface finishes and high strength properties at reduced cost. It is a virtual press where users can visualize material flow and temperature inside a die during extrusion and make necessary changes to ensure balanced flow, while identifying and eliminating product defects. 

Altair HyperExtrude Polymer is a simulation environment designed to help polymer extrusion companies meet the ever increasing demands to produce complex profiles with tight tolerances, quality surface finishes and high strength properties at reduced cost. 

HyperXtrude includes:

  • Extrusion specific Graphical User Interface guides user to prepare model setup analysis.
  • Ability to analyze extrusion of metals, polymers, pastes, and ceramics.
  • Built-in tool deflection analysis module allows the designers to compute die deflection and resulting stresses in the tool.
  • Capable of modeling co-extrusion of two or more materials.
  • Integrated with Altair HyperStudy for optimization of die bearing, porthole, and pocket shapes.
